Whether you are new to Edcamps or a seasoned Edcamper, you will enjoy spending the day with fellow educators in this participant-driven teacher learning opportunity! IT'S FREE! Come to share your expertise and voice with your colleagues or learn something new to take back to school!
Edcamps are informal gatherings for teachers. Have you ever sat through professional development that had no connection to your students or your class? Have you ever wished you had more time to get together with your fellow teachers? Have you ever wondered if there was a better way to learn a topic? We thought so.
Edcamp Paterson is a chance to lean on each other and learn from the expertise of our fellow teachers. Edcamps are more informal than traditional education conferences. There will be no "superstar" teachers or consultants getting paid thousands of dollars to teach you how to teach.
There will be camaraderie, conversation, and food!
When participants arrive, they will set the agenda by adding topics to the board that they either want to learn about or share their expertise. Then, after a short welcome, we will go off and learn about what is relevant to each of us. If a session doesn't fit your needs or meet your expectations, please vote with your feet and leave. That is the Edcamp way.
